Today, I wanna talk to you quickly about money and why it is important that you be able to earn as much as possible and why quite frankly it is your obligation to the people you love the most to do so.

So when I was growing up and actually still to this day; I love the Beatles. Can’t Buy Me Love was like one of my favorite songs, and it stands out when I think about things that money can’t buy. I know it’s true because when I met my wife, I had no money to my name. I was basically throwing keg parties in my apartment just to be able to pay the rent and maybe, just maybe, be able to afford to take her out to movie and a very, very cheap dinner.  Believe it or not, I look back on those times with great fondness. I mean life was basically carefree, and today it’s much different. I married that girl, we have a daughter, I have a mortgage, I have a business, and I have a lot more responsibility.

When I was a kid, many people told me don’t be in such a hurry to grow up. It’s for suckers and I wish I would’ve taken that to heart a little bit more. But here’s what I realize about money today. It won’t buy you happiness, right? The things you buy, they might make you happy for a little bit, but that’s not sustainable, at least it isn’t for me.   I don’t think there’s anything wrong with material things. I think they’re great. I certainly love some of the things that I buy. But some of it the shine does wear off kinda quick and that helped me realize that material things just aren’t my driver.

What’s the driver for you?  For me, I’ve found that it’s great experiences.  So just to give you an example this year, we bought annual passes to go to Disney World with our daughter. So one Friday a month, we make it a point to take our daughter to a Disney park and share in that experience. I couldn’t do that without money, right? So those days are something I really, really look forward to because it’s time invested with my daughter and my wife. If I didn’t make enough money, I wouldn’t be able to take the time away from work to be able to do that.  I took my wife to Key West for her 40th birthday this year and brought in several of our friends to help celebrate.  Can’t do that kind of stuff without money and those memories will last a lifetime.

How about great food, who doesn’t love food, right?  Maybe organic is your thing. Maybe eating the best kinds of food is your thing and it’s very difficult to do that if you don’t make money and it’s gonna cost you. It’s gonna cost you your health if you’re eating a bunch of processed things and cheap things because you can’t afford to buy the quality kind of foods that our bodies need.  Truth be told, it costs just as much to eat healthy as it does to eat poorly, unless of course you’re talking about eating out.

The third thing money affords you is access. Access to amazing people. I wouldn’t be able to get around people playing at a high level if I wasn’t able to pay to go travel.  I’m talking about people like Andy Frisella, Ed Mylett, Grant Cardone, and my mentor. If I couldn’t get around these people, I wouldn’t have learned so much to give some trajectory to my life and I think money is a catalyst to all of these things.

So when I say it’s your obligation to be able to do these things, to be able to make money, to earn for your family, it really is. Imagine if you could feed your kids the best foods. We all want the best for our kids. I think that goes without saying. But you don’t want to give your kids a bunch of garbage. You want them to have the best. You want your kids to have a fine education. You want them not to want for anything. You want them to respect and understand money. You want to give them great experiences, you want to travel.

I want to travel now. I don’t want to wait to travel when I’m 70 years old and I’m slowing down and maybe can’t enjoy things as much as I used to. Plus, what if I don’t make it to 70? Tomorrow’s not promised for anybody. So I have to focus today very intensely on making money. I’ve gotta make it a priority. So money is not an obsession, it’s a tool and it can open up a lot of doors for you. I want you to think about this. I said access is a great thing that money can buy for you. What if you need access to the finest health care money could buy?  What if your little kid is sick, God forbid. You wanna be able to give them the best.

So, if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines and you’ve been waiting and saying, “Gee, I gotta learn more to get in this game. I gotta go to another conference. I gotta read watch some more YouTube videos,” all that. Yeah, that’s great, but start taking massive action today. Because if not now, when? And if not you, then who? Think about that. I was at a conference at the Arete Syndicate live conference this past weekend in St. Louis, Missouri and my mentor, Ed Mylett said something that floored me. He said, “I’ve got to make money because nobody’s gonna push my family around. Nobody is gonna tell my dad he can’t get this cancer treatment he needs because he doesn’t have the money.” He sees so many people get pushed around, families that are forced into bankruptcy because of medical issues.  So it’s your responsibility. Get serious today about getting financially free.  If I can help you, if I can coach you, if I can steer you in the right direction, I’m happy to do that. I don’t charge to talk to people. We don’t have a guru course to sell you. This isn’t about that. It’s about seeing people get financially free. And that’s what it’s for. Experience, quality of life, access. You could get those things, I promise you, your life will change.
